Drop pods and squads

I will confess to a love, hate relationship with Drop pods, on one hand when playing marines there is no better way to quickly and safely deploy your units anywhere on the table than via a drop pod, on the other hand facing off again them is a real pain for that very reason. I can’t tell you how many times I have lost units that should have otherwise been safe, to a well-placed pod and its squad.

So what do you chaps think about about them and how do you use/deal with them ?.

One thing I have noticed of late is they are now a fast attach chose, this means you can take them for units that are not normally able to use drop pods and even use them for allies. This really opens them up to a lot of abuse.

I for one would like to see imperial guard with some allied space marines, in drop pods, that would look quite cool! And also a great way to get cheaper melta-cide squads! Move over vendetta, there's a new insertion transport in town!!

admech with haywire rifles is alos very populare as it can just about wreck any tank on the table.
