on a day the storms of magic started
Yesterday/ the early hours of this morning saw the start of the storms of magic yes that is why the weather has been so bad the magic flux themselve tore the very skies themselves.
the mission
the mad mage of drakwald downs
the mad mage; with his name lost over the ages of insanity this long corrupted wizard has spent his day wandering the darkwald downs in an addled, but incessant search for a key to great power.. and it seems he's found it. the mad mage starts the game rubbing his hands together and cackling maniacally atop the altar of madness.
victory con.
at the end of the battle whoever controls the altar of madness be it ether player or the mad mage wins

What is storms of magic
is a magic heavy expansion for warhammer with mow (monsters of war) which you can take along side your agreed points limit. magic is 4d6 insted of 2d6. the idea is to control the fulgrums which only wizards can do. and cast some rly deadly spells. only one person can assult them hence the big beasts. wizards on top have a 3 up ward save also.
points cost was 2,500 with a whoping 670pts on big beasts and items. which i was nice and let rich take the big things (lucky for me as all the giant did was put a but print in a wood.
my army (rich please post yours)
king with 2 up armour save, lvl 4 wizard with 4 up ward
heros
necrotect (nasty guy gives hatred and stone things regen , battle standard with razor standard (armour pen) and a lvl 2 wizard with the lore of death
core 22 warriors
24 bowsmen

17 tomb gaurd omg these guys with 5 s and hatred thanks to the necro tect are the dogs.....
3 ushabati i see great things in theses

3 carrions
1 scorpion
3 stalkers

1 casket of souls

1 necrosphinx (and it went so well on turn two same bout turn 3)

1 rhinox 2 sabertusks one sword for the tombking the more fulgrums u hold the better it gets if you hold none it just doubles his attacks so 8 lodded dice forgot to use which means at the start of the turn you go i want 1's to be 6;s and 6's to be ones

turn 1
our 1 each fulgrums were place turns out they maybe to close to each other o well
my army moves up the field slowly.
magic the lore of death is in flux so that 5 extra ontop to cast death magic thats gr8 i have a death wizard and also the tk lore is +4 i dont get a gr8 deal of magic off. but the mad mage does. the casts the invisable fires of tzeench not good im the closest to him with the carrions. im bricking it carrions are my speed bump unit. even thou the mage teleports 2d6 at random directions i got closer than i should of. he auto casts at 20, i cant aford the dice to dispell it so bye cariions, its 3d6 hits 2d6 st im so dead 11 hits are rolled but yay my crud rolls pay off snake eyes st 2 to 4t thats 6's one wound

thats all the shooting did one bloody bowman.
richs turn one
mage teleports towords rich
one charge pegasus knight on the mad mage.
everything moves up
magic life is in flux +5 to cast gd for rich he have a life wizard
i dispell alot of buffing things
and have a few deaths.
combat the knight fights the mad mage. no wounds the mage no wounds gr8 draw but wait the charged so he wins but have the mage ld 10 whats the chance of me failing right 12 he runs and dies as he cant be off the fulgrum
super bloody lame.
my turn two
i charge the men at arms with my carrions and the spider with nero the sphinx.
i move up the field, magic the lore of light is in flux yay again thats tk lore +4
a vortex kills one bowmen yay

its nasty it puts 2 wounds on necro
i have one shot at this otherwise im dead with the extra wounds i suffer from loseing i cant aford to lose
with one of my attacks being s 10 heroic killingblow i have to kill this
score it hits 2's to wound 6 to kill jackpot 6 it dies luck is with me shame thou necro did so well shame it gets tainted
the carrions loose one carrion left. rich charges the bulk of my army im doomed
lore of fire in flux
but then the fay starts to cast this will hurt but yay she casts a lore of heavens comet but miscast thats bad but in this game thats very bad. i miscast in my phase i got a s10 hit but rolled a one ha took 2 d6 from the pool then the stormsof magic miscast table i got the top one rly wild magic gave us both 2d6 back lol. but rich got a wound from the s10 hit o please not you do not double ur t instant death in fantasy. the rich rolls teleport every wizard on a fulgrum is removed and put back in a random fulgrum rich ends up my side i end up his o dear
i am under half range to be shot now and as he gets rerolls while im in a building im not in the best place as bowman kill my mage (shadow)

turn 3
all or nothing
all my army charges forword
the giant does nothing and the necro is killed by horses thats right the knights did nothing but horses killed me thats 3 wounds all with 6's dam u. the skeletons are hurting from the knights the lord and tk go toe to toe my 8 attacks vs rich and his sword that adds d6 to his guys stats for that combat o dear then the sword teleports to any other lord or hero on the field but alas he gets it back.
the ushabti killed the fay but the unicorn kills one of mine
note the woods all the giant did in the game was fall over in it
the tombguard mop up his peg lord and move towords his knights.
rich kills the tk and the sword teleports to my bsb. i am down to one skeleton and my mage. the giant dies and the knights charge the bowman and bsb which the bsb challenges his champ and mops him up that sword is gr8 thanks rich.
the tomb guard hack though 5 knights these guys are the dogs .......
we had to end there as it was half 1 and we had work in 4hrs lol i gave rich the win as we didnt hold the altar rich had 3 mages i had one and he was stuck in combat.
rly dam fun game cheers rich

The battle sounded really good, would love to play some storm of magic at some point, just need to get some monsters.
Can any army have any monster? If so than I know which one I an getting.
