All sounds good chaps, thinking of running some of the training missions on tuesday from the armageddon book, in addition to:-

Thunderhawk Down

"An Imperial Fists 5th Company thunderhawk has been shot down over the ork held city of Orkadishu while retriving a scout formation that has valuable intel over the location of the arch warboss Ghazghkull Thraka. Communication has been lost with the thunderhawk, your mission is to secure the crash site and extract the scouts before the orks decend on them"

I'd love to play, but I'm not sure how to use the army lists to pick a force? I'll just bring some gumpf.

only thing I see is that land raider formations are purchased in a group of four, with the only upgrades being comander or vindicator. What you could do is add another two to the terminator formation. This I believe would cost the same and be legal

Just treated my self to the rulebook, order dice and a thunderhawk gunship, why the hell not! Thought it would go with my army from 1989! Mine really is pre heresy!

cool, the rules are great and Imho offer a really balanced game that is very tactically challenging. One of GWs best, shame they dont realise it tho

Steve, do you knoe how may points your full Epic army is roughly? Give me an idea of what to work to for future battles.

roughly 3.5k of guard, 4k of orks, 2.5k of Eldar and 2.5k of marines, 5k if I use both my red scorps and IF. Epic normally scales between 2-5k. I thought we would start at 1.5k to make it easier to learn the rules. They are fairly straightforward but allow for quite a large degree of strategy. If we start with ground forces first and then scale the games up to include war engines and aerospace ops.

Cool, that's a lot of little men. I can't wait to have a go. I've plans to make my UM's about 3k, maybe more. Then I fancy a few Titans and Bomber command with thunderbolt escorts, about 1k of flyers, they look so good on forge world!
Epic looks so cool all set up. Even if my army does come from the space marine box set, if anyone remembers that?

My eldar are here!! ( i know, im shocked too, it took royal mail only 3 days to deliver!! )
but the down side is he has glued with cement glue models on the wrong base!!
e.g. one base has a swooping hawk, a striking scorpion, a guardian, a sniper guy whose name escapes me and a warp spider, YES ALL ON THE SAME BASE
any one know any tricks to get them off?? if not the bases will look quite odd.
Any way, what do eldar units consist of?

thanks, i sorted the stuff out and i have:
2 jet bike stands, about 6 guardian stands, a howling banshee stand, a wraith gaurd stand, a sniper stand, a warp spider stand and a command stand but i am missing two warlocks. and thats just the stuff on bases!!
i also have some harlequins, i thinks about three stands worth. games workshop don't even sell harlequins, at least not any more. and some other odd models that i can not see on their web site.
