anyone game for a game of 40k on tuesday the 10th?

Well I think the subject covers it all really =D

1500 points for a 5th ed game?
I don’t mind trying out 6th ed but I don’t know the rules so it will take longer

I can be along for 8:30 or a little before providing the trains are being nice

I'll bring along a 1500 army, I've no plans for this Tuesday so if you don't get a better offer I'll play a 5th edition swan song.

sounds good to me =D might take my Eldar out for a last spin as it looks like they got kicked in the balls in a very very large way for 6th ed so don't know how much i will be using them after tuesday lol........... now my Tau on the other hand are a very diffident story

Nope, Eldar are just fine. Sure, transports are not as tough, you can't assault out of transport during the same turn and banshees are now even worse, but about these things everyone has had the same treatment. Not having access to fliers isn't great, but forgeworld will be there soon to plug the gaps.

Otherwise, Farseer are more useful than ever with psychic powers everywhere, they have access to divination which is the best set of psychic powers so far, warp spider get a nice boost with hammer of wrath and their St6 guns, all your vehicule get a free jink save, reserves arrive on 2+ with autarch, bikes are very good, rangers/pathfinders choose their targets on 6s...

And it seems the avatar is immune to all heat weapons

I'll prob bring my guard.

When I say Eldar got worse it is in the fact that everyone else in the game can rapid fire at max range and the poor old Eldar who are not very tough or numbers and have naff all range cannot go toe to toe with lots of forces + assaulting is rather painful for us now. =S
But yes some units have improved like the good old wraithlord who can now challenge in combat and take out the power fist sergeant lol and the farseer is every ones favourite but to be honest unless you are going to have him at almost 200 points and still not get the powers you want you might want to keep him cheap with basic fortune and doom seer.
Mind you all the problems with the Eldar can be gotten around with allies =D

Use spiders for that glancing to death is the new meltagun.

and hawks are a really good giggle =D
shining spears have also have had a wee bit of a boost to.

just got a copy of the new 6th ed rules and lots of info to go though but not quite as bad as i thought it was going to be.
big change is rapid fire is now is 2 shots up to half your max range so kroot gun on the krootox gets two shots at 24"

Rapid fire is better, think about tau then firing two St5 shots at 30" range

They get to fire 2 shots at 15” and one shot at 30” regardless of it they move =D

will defantly have to bring my Tau along next time as they have not been out for a while

and in 6th there not totally useless

are they really i did not realise
might have to have a farseer and rangers along to show them the rops you know how it is beeing a new race and all

i have never seen my dice be so good lol normally it is 1's all the way lol

still a very good game sire and a very good opponent =D

Once I have my head around 6th ed I will be back for some more =D
