Whatsapp why warbunka is quite

the warbunka is alittle quite as we are all on whatsapp talking about our nerdy geeky things. how do you get in on this action. get whatsapp its like 69p but its awesome instant chat and pic sending from phone to phone and its free then message chris (fire warrior) with your mobile number so he can add you to the brga group

But all tournament and the games day stuff will still be post on here of course

Ahhhh so that's why lol, I just got the app, for freeeeeeee , will send relative info soon

I must admit, I've not been on Warbunka as much as I'd like (my dad recently had heart surgery, plus there's thrudball, but still no excuse)...

I will invest in whatsapp (if it's on windows phone - they are still excluded from most the cool Iphone and Android apps:(), but I've also a related dilemma regarding the website and forum...

A mate of Elvis's, Tom Forster, kindly offered AGES ago to create us a new BRGA website for free,  but the question is do we leave the Warbunka Forum as is and just change the Website?

Tom and I have been waiting nearly 4 months to get hold of Charlie (who admittedly has recently moved, is having a baby and has a new job) to see if it is possible to transfer the forum history onto a new website with integrated forum ... if that is what the consensus is

Personally I think warbunka is Smashing, but has a few weaknesses...

1) At the moment the only  I still cannot add new members or resolve password issues (Poor Richard Billingshurst has not been able to get a warbuka logon in over 2 years )....

2) it's not instantly apparent on every page when the small hall dates are...

3) I'd like to see some groups set up so forum members can subscribe (or not) to any posts / pms that relate to, say, 40k, Warhammer, Bloodbowl, Necromunda, etc...

If you could improve Warbunka, what would you like to see?

I don't think Charlie has the time to give to this, oe even sleep (I'm not criticising, he is CRAZY BUSY trying to make ends meet by creating websites, working nights, doing a day job, dealing with the cravings and needs of a pregnant lady plus occasionally answering my annoying emails)...

Ideally I (or A.N.Other, if one of you has the skills AND JUST AS IMPORTANTLY THE TIME AND COMMITMENT to take on the Club Role of BRGA Webmaster) need full control over this, as at least if we are responsible for it, you lot will nag whoever's responsible incessantly until stuff gets done...

we can't nag Charlie as (a) he's too nice a bloke and (b) he's hardly ever able to make it to club...

Charlie is going to try his best to email me some details regarding the forum this weekend. Let's see how well we all can network to get a consensus from ALL BRGANs regarding how and if we want to move on this subject.

I'm afraid I know nothing of working forums and chat rooms etc but either way the club does need a forum. Despite whats app all events, diary dates etc are post on here first and foremost

Will still be using the warbunka for battle reports tourney updates events etc whats app is just good for chatting

yep keep the Forum
whatsapp is nice for a chat but try to organise much on there and it will soon fall over. also looking stuff up from an old post would be painful in whatsapp.

I think we should trim a few of the forums away like Warmachine etc as they don't get used enough.

I know next to nothing about websites, I can however moderate forums somewhat.

Unfortunately at the moment Forumotion, the service that this forum uses wont let you transfer the database to another forum.

We can start a brand new forum but that would mean brand new usernames and passwords.

I've made Frank an Admin, there should be a link at the bottom of the page

If you guys want a brand new website and forum I can make you one that has a Content Management System so you would need to know any code to edit it.

I got a pay rise today so I will have evenings free.

I love this forum but I think for growth of the club it needs its own website and forum on one domain with a similiar theme

I have a baby due on the 2nd but I will get down to the club soon.

What do you guys think of BRGA having its own forum?

It's a very gd idea but the warbunka man we can't get rid of it
