Grant Application & Thrudball Big Cheque
Guys,
We have successfully won a grant from Arun council's safe and Clean fund, due to the work we do making our local area clean and tidy (by keeping us all off the streets ).
All we have to do is raise the £150 that I promised the ACS&CF committee we could raise from donations from club members.
As a start towards this, I'm donating £30 myself, as I know a few of our members are currently between jobs...
If everyonewith an income coughs up £6 or so towards the pot, we'll have all we need to build our battle boards!!! All those who post a donation reply will be contributing not only to the success of the club, but improving the chances of more opponents, more competition, and more fun!
Hey, can a small percentage (5-10% maybe?) go towards sourcing (2nd hand) bloodbowl boards (via ebay)? Just a thought...lets see if we reach the £150 first I suppose...
I will also pop into the club tomorrow night to get a photo of as many of you as possible surrounding our Thrudball Nationwide Big Cheque, which is for £2100 to Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Apparently all those in the photo have AMAZING SPAWNY JAMMY dice luck all year...
See youse guys tomoz!

Re: Grant Application & Thrudball Big Cheque
So far we've already raised £60 of the £150 we need from BRGA Member Donations in order to qualify for the £380 Arun Council Grant for Battle Boards...Donators to date are:
Frank Hill, £30 pledged to pay
Elvis Fisher, £10 pledged to pay
Russell Hodgson, £10 pledged to pay
Ryan Hodgets, £10 pledged PAID
Thank you so much to all those who have already donated, please can the rest of you dig deep into those pockets to help us find the other £90.
As i'm confident we'll succeed in this, I'm now looking to recruit the five best, most experienced and most interested Battle Board & Scenery Jedis(Hoping for Elvis, Steve Homer, Richard Billingshurst and two others) in our club will combine their efforts and maximise what we get for our money. the idea is to
repair / improve / protect (wooden edges / frames) current boards;
buy more storage containers for our current scenery;
Buy & make as many new boards and scenery as possible.
I will contact Steve Smith this week and try to get his best quote for 18mm x 8' x 4' chipboard (my best quote was £8 each from Wickes Waterlooville). I'm also hoping he can help regarding shelving...see below
Richard can source FREE thin MDF of smaller sizes. Question here is do we stick to competition sizes of 6' x 4'.
Charlie McBroom is a great resource for sourcing scenery cheaply as he works in the industry.
I need to speak to Richard Reid of NS&SC to confirm we can build some framework / shelving in order to stack our boards etc so as to minimise damage and make our storage area safe. I need to provide him with a technical drawing of what we're proposing, must measure that back room next week...
Steve Homer has said he can spray the boards for a professional finish if we buy the cleaner and paint. Knows what he's doing as used to work for GW.
Mike works (occasionally)in B&Q, so hopefully can source cheap / free stuff if he sleeps with his boss...take one for the team please, mike!
C'mon guys, lets put the BRGA into teamBwRGAk!!
Frank, perpetual nag...

Re: Grant Application & Thrudball Big Cheque
...P.S. if we don't raise and spend this before end april, then it could detrimentally affect our subsistence percentage of the funds we raise...
So if you've not managed to donate yet please rob your piggy bank!
We're so close I can TASTE victory...

Re: Grant Application & Thrudball Big Cheque
it wasn't really meant as a proper donation, which Ben could not afford, it was a case of "keep the change from £3 when paying entry fee to the club"...
Re: Grant Application & Thrudball Big Cheque
I'll put the £10 in.
