Annihilation 2013 knock out 40k

After the success of last years event it's back.. I hope... Depends on you lot.

Ok so annihilation a club 40k tourney and using 6th edition.

This post is to see how many a people will take part, the full tourney rule set will be posted at a later date but here's a few things you may like to know. Requires a minimum of 16 players.

1. 1000 points same as last year
2. Special characters can be used but if you have an opponent with the same special character both will not be able to take part (no clones) and a kill point will be awarded to each player
3. Allies can be used.
4. Bonus points will be awarded to fully painted and based armies.
5. Bonus points will be awarded for wysiwyg but of course feel free to use non GW models.
6. Aim is to begin end of April and play through May.
7. And a small fee to pay to buy prizes... That depends on how many play.

About Special Characters though, what happens if there are 2 Coteaz with Henchmen as troops only? Both Coteaz are removed, but what happens to the henchmen?
1. Can't play at all as they couldn't be taken and it might clash with other FOC; it divides everything by zero while going up the Penrose stairs and the universe ends?
2. Don't count as troop choice anymore but can still be taken - which leaves the army with no troop choice
3. Stays the same, Coteaz just stayed at home to do the washing up but still sent his warband to fight

Could we do bigger games? 1500 - 1750? If everyone has a big enough force obviously.

Well I have enough orks and imp fists but yer that's true I would like to take Lysander but what if somebody else does

Special characters are a nice bit of fluff and back in the day never aloud in tournaments so using another tournaments idea, its not to stop you taking them but gives you something to think about.

So all units will attend the battle just not the character and units will still counts as what ever is on your army list. It's only if you have the same special characters anyway. It's a risk you'll have to take if you're desperate to take them.

And it's 1k to keep it quick and hopefully see some more painted stuff as its a small force.
And it's traditional to last year keeping a theme going.

If anyone wants to organise bigger games and tourneys fill your boots.

Are you bringing Orks? Just rolls lots and lots of dice! Just ask Elvis...

I am rather spoilt for chose for this event as to what to take but was leaning towards Tau or someone with Tau allies. What happens if the new codex comes out halfway through the event?
Do we carry on with the old codex till the end or swap?
Still not 100% when it comes out but I think it is around then?

Stick with the the list and codex you started with.

Off topic I know but does anyone know what the next 40k/Fantasy armies are due to be updated?

I know Tau are getting a lot of rumours at the moment and so are daemons but not sure on dates.

Also Eldar, dark eldar and Tau are meant to be getting some new flyers out next month and a new book updating all existing flyers.
Rumours are that the flying land raider that the GK and BA have been hogging for so long will become available to all SM chapters

yeah ive heard that, but no access for SW to The flying brick or the stormtalon...

on topic- are we doing a range of missions or the kill point one only?

There will be a range. kill point and objective based. I'll post the whole format once/if we get enough players.
