Wip Eldar corsairs

I tore up some cork tiles and glued them around the base in a pleasing way leaving room for the flight stand and then undercoated it black (making sure to get all the nooks and crannies).

Then after painting the cork grey and giving them a dark wash I painted the lower parts of the base base red and worked my way up from orange to yellow each time leaving a a bit of the last colour showing. Also as I worked though each colour I would dry brush a little of it onto the edges of the cork to give it a glowing effect.
I found with the orange and the yellow that using a dry brush and dabbing it down gave best results but a stiff old brush should do.
As a last touch I used a standard brush to give a more gliding effect for the yellow to give the feeling of flowing and then a small bit of white for the really hot parts.

I thought I better get back to basics lol

This year is going to be busy for me as I have lots of plans but as is often the case I am sure to get side tracked by life.

But I have been working on a way to get a 3D print of the corsairs I want to see if I can make a mould at home to cast my own and this is what I have come up with so far.

Lots of air lines to let air out and the injected resin to run free or at least that is the idea. Any input would rock.

And the newest addition to my Eldar is sunspear the destroyer of   



Like my other Wraithknight I wanted him to look like he had a wraithbone core with protective armour plating over the top.
The laver base was made using cork and paint.

A little project I am working on at lunch times in the office



One is a base for my old Wraithguard to stand on, I will make 5 or so of these out of green stuff once I am happy with it

The other is a pair of legs I have started……… not sure what it will be in the end but I am thinking an Eldar Autarch or something like that.

Feet, knees and buttocks added and some bits trimmed.



His right leg is a bit chunky still from other angles so need to trim that down and smarten up the feet as well as some more mussel definition here and there.
Then I think I will add the basic armour plating and gems before moving onto the upper body.

just added some amour plates.
next up will be gems and some proportions tweaking. oh and a holster.

First off we have what I did on Thursday but ran out of time to update lol
Just a few bits added like the knees and leg strap for the holster.



Next up we have todays progress
I have tried to smooth off some bits that have been cut away and added the holster to the leg as well as a gem and ribbons to the holsters leg strap.





All in all very pleased with the progress and just need to get some bits from my bits box to see if I can cheat for the upper body or not or at least to use as some reference at the least.

he is slightly larger than a normal eldar but i can live with that  

and todays update is a little work i did on his tummy to give him a 6 pack    might work some more on it once it is dry to see if i can sort out the proportions a bit better.



After that it will be the upper torso oh and the boy bits need doing as well  

Ok so little update here

Been trying to sort out the chest and crotch as well as a few small fixes here and there.





The next step will be cutting the upper body down a bit as he is a little to big up top and adding chest plates as well as a few more gems.

and my wraith blades are finished at long last   

peck plates have been added    needs more work but good start

2 squads down and one to go who I will be converting to carry D-scythes.

The bases are all moulded from green stuff and put on a normal base. in most cases they were created to incorporate a normal 25mm base to make my life easy lol

Hello chaps

A little update from my sculpting. Lots of little bits have been going on in the last few days that where not worth reporting like bulking up the body so the head did not seem so big.

How I have started to build up the arms and put a proxy flag pole in place for for sizing and stuff.

yay just finished the last of the wraithguard.

as you can see i converted theses ones to have D-scythes cos they are just plain fun to use.



will try and get a picture of all my wraith units together soon

And a little update for today   

Things are moving along now as you can see from the picture.

I am more or less happy with his left hand though more work might be required.

His right hand holding the pole is just the first stage and will add fingers and thumb next week.

Still to come is the face and flag…………….. both of these promise to be interesting.
Oh and shoulder pads as well as a few bits of tidying up.
Not sure how long it will take but I am very pleased he is taking shape.

he is so close to completion. need to do shoulder pads and flags but on the home run now

Ok so I have made the flag and sorted it out a bit but a little more trimming to do here and there.


Next to do is shoulder pads maybe and sorting out a base

Yay he is finished at last kind of. Keep thinking of adding a little detail here and there and his back is a little plain but he is good enough to take home and paint
