Battle Board Committee - MEMBERS URGENTLY NEEDED!

Guys,
As you may know, we still have just under £350 of our £470 grant for scenery and battle boards still to spend by 23/08/11, or else we will have to return it ...for my part, I have sourced 6 x 8' x 4' x 18mm MDF for under £74 (special discount as we're for "cherity"), got it to Newtown for no charge, and got it cut for nothing . As agreed at the AGM, £50 of the grant has been spent on sourcing 8 BRGABabe Thrudboards, I will personally donate the balance to the club's Bloodbowling future.

Steve Homer is unfortunately not able to deal with the ordering side of things re: the scenery & paint, and I've not heard yet whether he can even help with the board spraying any more(fingers crossed he can at least show one of us how to do it and loan us his equipment, but dunno I think he's snowed under). Therefore I've taken responsibility for placing the scenery orders...once we've decided what we want!!!!

We URGENTLY need is a team of 4-5 experienced Scenery makers (Richard Billingshurst is fully committed to this, Elvis has shown an interest in helping, Charlie I hope you could assist us via warbunka to get the best deals, plus maybe 1-2 others) who can commit 100% to making this happen, and agree a plan of how we will achieve this at the club next tuesday 9/8.

Ideally I want these 5 people to liaise and ideally give me a shopping list on 9/8 to the tune of about £350 that will be sufficient supplies to prepare 8 x 6' x 4' MDF Battle Boards paint, etc, plus themed scenery (Snow world, Lava World, Desert World, ETC). Richard can source Double-corrugate boxes for the scenery.

We also need to provide evidence (pictures) to Arun Council that we are recycling in our local environment, I'm going to try and get a few bad casts from work that we can use, plus we can probably use a lot of our existing stuff so we'll need to go through our current scenery stocks. Does anyone have a cable that can download pics of me scrounging stuff from skips from my LG phone?

This is going to take a lot of organising to prepare for the Big Build, and I'm dearly hoping EVERYONE will do their best to be at the club the following Tuesday 16/8 plus probably also somewhen over the following weekend 20-21/8 so we can set up a "Production Line", managed by the Battle Board Committee, to maximise what we complete in a short space of time.

I'm counting on you all to help support the club's growth on this...PLEASE give your full support to this, even if (like me) you mainly only play bloodbowl...

Here is what we're planning to do between now and next tuesday in order to be prepared for our BIG BATTLE BOARD BUILD:

1.) I need to speak to you about sourcing some Water Effect ASAP, NEEDED BY TUESDAY CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?(Although Ryan is bringing a small amount with him)

2) I am going to drop down my "How to Build Wargames Terrain" book to Richard on Friday / Saturday latest.

3) I am going to source:

• Green Flock Sheet and Powder(and White , Brown, Grey if possible) from Either Squires, Gifts for Geeks or GW;

• High Density Insulation foam 2 sheets 3 inches thick x 2' x 4-6';

• a bag of modelling grit approx 1 litre

• Woodchip paper(unless anyone has some);

• 1 litre of plaster of paris powder;

• 1 mixed bag of lichen;

• 1 permanent marker for labelling scenery up;

• 1 litre PVA glue;

• Download A Games Workshop Colour chart;

• Flexiboard (I have some in my loft) to act as bases for scenery pieces;

• 4 roller heads for a paint roller;

• some school-type paintbrushes (sourced 2 from work( ¦¬) )

4) Richard is going to determine which paint colours we need and advise me Thursday(today!) or Friday latest.

5) Mike and me are going shopping at B&Q for the emulsion paint.

6) Ryan is going to source some sand.

7) EVERYONE PLEASE bring your old sprues for making rubble with, plus any random bits of metal and plastic rubbish plant pots crisp & biscuit tubes etc for recycling into scenery;

Richard is going to source some "rocks", and some double ply cardboard boxes to put the scenery in.

Tony is going to source 3 KFC Buckets;

9) please can you ALL BRING your plastic Clippers, junior hacksaws, coping saws, paintbrushes (for walls, I've got some somewhere I think)

Please let me know if I've missed something,, and please all hands to the "Production Line " next tuesday!!!

oh, and Ryan please talk to your dad about borrowing a circular saw on tuesday....I can bring a black and decker workmate some g clamps and a spirit level (to use as a guide so we get straight cuts)

pacific blue
Atlantic blue

which are all the same price, they are 200ml pots

I've also got a load of sand/stone that you can have for free
