campaign and special mission ideas

Hi all, I thought I would start this thread for people to post their ideas for any campaigns/special missions/ mini tournaments etc that they would like to see happen. I will start the ball rolling by saying that I think a small map based campaign with possibly teams of players (with smaller armies) or individuals would be cool. perhaps using the rules as written from planetary empires. This would have the advantage of not swamping us all at first with a load of campaign rules, so we can get on and play some games. perhaps a time lmit of X amount of months could be placed on it so that we actually 'finish' the campaign, as these things have a habit of starting well but fizzling out. Then in future campaigns we could throw in extra rules and themes etc.

what do you all think?
any themes or background you would love to see?

Well, playing Dark Eldar, I'm all for something involving capturing and enslaving people. I always imagined it to be quite an interesting idea to randomly turn up on a battle that is already happening, just to create an element of chaos. Say three games are being played on one day, roll a die, join the fray... Just a thought though.

I did notice that there was a few people that turned up but didnt get to play, this was due to the fact there wasn't enough gameing tables, so i have an idea.- Combat Patrol- for those that dont know about this, it a small game played on a small table. so you can have 2 games on 1 gaming table just put a line down the middle.

I agree with steve, there were a few extra players that were not getting a game, this may be due to their lack of armies, or perhaps table availability. Im not sure how many boards we have, but I think its more than actually tables to place them on. Perhaps we could use the smaller bar tables (if allowed by venue) to place the boards on, or perhaps as a group we need to think about investing in some (2-3) extra fold away tables. I will look into prices.

Also agree about the 40k in 40min idea. very cool. perhaps this could lead to a sort of knock aout mini tourney? over a course of a couple of tuesdays?

I also have the battle missions book, with some cool idead for 'kill team' missions on its content.

any thoughts?

yer i like that idea alot quick maches and scenario's are great fun also the name kill team just sounds good if you can give us all a link to it so we can read it that would be grand.

i've done a few kill team missions in the past, can get very messy! brent, your gunna be stuck with only a few choices for your team, cos most tau single wound models suck ass!

loke i care about doing well >.< should just be fun to have a go
