40K Mini-tournament. 31st August 2010

Coming to a game hall near you! Crush your opponents in an evening of furious 40k mayhem. This will be held on the Tuesday club night and it's a chance to play 3 games of 40K in one evening. The format is 400pt combat patrol (rules below) and the aim of the evening is to have FUN!

This is really an excuse to get everyone in the club playing together regardless of whether you are a Bloodbowl, Warmachine, or even Weed player. If you don't have a 40K army please post here and I'll try to sort one out for you.

There will be prizes and possibly some "fun" events too.


40k in 40 minutes (Combat Patrol) rules:

•Armies are no more than 400 points.

•You must have at least one troop choice

•You may only have one HQ, but you do not have to take an HQ choice.

•You may spend remaining points from anywhere in the codex of your army.

•No special characters

•No 2+ saves

•No models can have more than 2 wounds.

•No vehicles with a total armor value 33 or more. (Calculate this by adding front, side, and rear armor values, *note: only count side armor once)

•You must designate one model as your force’s commander.

Rule check, if a model has more than 2 wounds, can I say it has two wounds and keep it? Or should I ignore anything with more than 2 wounds in the codex?

Afraid it means you can't take models with more than two wounds. (I like your thinking though! - "Yep it's a Trygon but it's only got two wounds...)

Okay I have 9 forum members interested, Frank said he'll have a go and I can probably rope my brother in. Looks like a busy evening!

So far there will be prizes / certificates for:

1st and 2nd place winners.

‘Coolest army’ (This is decided by me for the army that has that something special. It could be a nicely written background special display base or they are converted from turnips. Use your imagination!)

IMPORTANT NOTE: I’m hoping to start at 7.00pm sharp so we can get the games in so please try to arrive nice and early!

aagghh sorry guys going to have to pull out. it sucks but have no choice in the matter, hope all have fun and that IG show you what they're made of for 400pts (that means you have to win Stephane sorry if spelt name wrong)
