BRGA AGM MEETING 31/03/15
(apologies for stuff I’ve forgotten, this is all I could recall…please email me if I’ve missed summink and I’ll add it on)
Agenda
1.Reappointment of Club Committee Members (essential to GCN Membership - Club Leader, Membership Secretary, Treasurer)
Majority voted that:
Frank Hill remains (still reluctant) Club Leader,
Ryan Hodgetts is still Membership Secretary,
Alex Nightingale is still Treasurer.
2.Vote to remain in GCN Frank mentioned the passing of Tony Barnes, GCN President last year, and the impact on the GCN.
Majority voted to continue with GCN membership.
We still have a vacant position of GCN Knight, which involves liaison with the GCN, passing on newsletter info, ETC.
3.PLI - We’ve only just got our PLI certificate last month as a result, and it STILL does not have the correct address on it. Dan Carroll, the GCN’s Membership Secretary, says “From what I understand this is due to the policy being administered by the GCN and that is used as a main administration address for the paperwork. I will double check to make sure of this however. ”
Frank chased the GCN again today and copied the enquiries email address of Cobra, the Scheme Intermediary for the insurance agent.
4.Newtown Memberships: BRGANs were reminded Newtown Annual Memberships are now due, we’ve got till about Mid April to get them in please. Should be £12 again… Frank to give Ryan the Club Laptop and full responsibility for collecting Memberships and weekly fees, but will assist when Ryan cannot make it.
5.Reapportioning of Funds Raised: As previously mentioned, the local charity we support, Fair Play For Children, are no longer a charity, and have instead gone into front line support for the young in the form of the number 18 project, registered charity number 1056765.
It is an information service, drop-in café, counselling, sexual health clinic with arts and music for Young People aged 13-25 in Waterloo Square, Bognor Regis. For more details see
www.number18project.org.uk
The Majority voted that funds raised for Fair Play would be passed on to the number 18 project.
The Majority voted they wanted to support a new charity for Fiscal 2015-2016 The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, Registered Charity number 1096622. For more details see. http://www.thesussexsnowdroptrust.com/
Maxine and Ryan Bowles will contact them to obtain a Letter of Authority for permission for BRGA to fundraise for them. Frank to give Maxine an example of a Letter of Authority
6.Thrudball Committee Members: As previously mentioned, Frank is stepping away from organising Thrudball after this years event in August. Frank asked all BRGANs if a Committee of members would take over.
Wayne Johnston, Jim Turner and Richard Billingshurst “swore an OATH” to all BRGANs to continue the event, and the majority voted them in as the future Committee.
They will use this year to determine which tasks each of them will be responsible for, to glean as much information from me as possible, and will assist me in the process this year whilst I “handover” the event to them.
7.Forum / Website / Whatsapp / Facebook / Communication – Several issues topics came up:
Whatsapp is killing our Forum, and we are invisible to the public on Whatsapp, but it’s the quickest method of communicating (at least for those of us who have modern phones).
We need to ALL use the BRGA Facebook page more, get pics of EVERY Tuesday on Facebook; Tony Greenwood and Stephen Bennett made Admins of the BRGA Facebook page and will keep the updates coming – ALL BRGANS to take a few pics of their game each Tuesday and forward to Stephen and Tony.
MUST use our forum more; needs message box so we can instant message each other like on whatsapp Frank to Ask Charlie as Charlie created the forum.
Our website contains information that is not up to date; Frank to ask Could Charlie take this Website over? Or Jim Turner did this on Google Sites, what do you think? https://sites.google.com/site/bognorregisgamersassociation
Charlie asked permission to create a Twitter account #Thrudball – Carl Critchlow approved this.
8.Small Hall - Frank asked how people felt about paying the Newtown the Full £40 / night fee, IF it meant we were NEVER moved. Would take negotiation with the Newtown Committee AND the Darts Club. Would mean an increase in Weekly fees. Everyone present at the AGM thought IF the Newtown could negotiate a PERMANENT Large Hall slot, we should abolish the Spectator fee, and said they would also accept an increase to weekly fees. Frank to approach the Newtown with this proposal and see if they and the Darts Club will go with it.
9.Thrudball 2014 and BRGA Financials – Frank advised BRGA financials will not be presented till end April, as otherwise the 10% of the Thrudball 2014 Money would not be released until the 2016 AGM. We are still awaiting a few Thrudball Auction Debtors to pay, the deadline is End April.
There were a number of suggestions on what to spend the BRGA Profits on;
Refurbishment of our Cupboards, so they are
(a) mobile – on wheels – note the current location will be a kitchen longer term, at which point we’ll need to wheel the boards etc in fro the back storage room
(b) Secure (doors and locks, so stuff cannot get stolen) and
(c) redesigned (Boards should be stored Vertical not horizontal, separators need covering in felt to minimise damage to boards.
Bespoke Boxes with cut foam for our Scenery needs, needs tailoring to a particular storage box, as otherwise it gets damaged if its not put away correctly.
Boards and Scenery Alex mentioned 6’ x 4’ Vinyl BRGABabes? Starfields for Space Games?
Folding Tables – would need chaining up, or would go missing.
10.40k Club Fundraiser Event – Someone mentioned an Open Day, Frank said it was really hard to advertise it last time and few non BRGANs showed. Alex suggested a group of 40kers ran an Apocalypse Day in July, our their own 1 day 40k event; Sunday, run all day with at least 3 large tables 4’x8’ minimum and at least 4,000 points on each side for each table if not more. Alex has raised a Poll on Warunka to survey the best Sunday for BRGANs, to maximise attendance see
https://warbunka.forumotion.net/t1221-regis-campaign-apocalypse-day
Need a decent prize from the ticket pot, subject to minimum sign-ups. Please support this idea...
11. BRGAShirt Rerollls – Wayne suggested these should NOT be compulsory, a bit elitist if you’ve got a Shirt and your opponent hasn’t. Majority voted BRGAshirt rerolls allowed ONLY at the Discretion of BOTH players. Only really applies to games like Bloodbowl where a single Dice Roll is critical.
12.Stuff I’ve Forgotten? Please let me know and I’ll add it to the Notes.

Re: BRGA AGM 31st MArch 2015 Notes
I did miss a few things...
13) We did mention that we might do a Charity collection before the $0k TOurney in order to help promote it (and BRGA). Maxine is expecting the LOA from Snowdrop imminently, once I've got that, I will request permission from BOTH our charities to get two T-Shirts Printed with BOTH Their Official Logo's on, as I believe this will help us collect more money.
14) I think The majority voted Alex Lloyd in as 40k Leader?
15) We should have re-voted Sam Trotter in a Quartermaster....but I'm sure he wouldn't have been challenged for the role anyway...
16) Did I mention Tony and Elvis were thinking of doing a Star Trek Attack Wing Tournament in April. Tony to check with Elvis and firm up a date.

Re: BRGA AGM 31st MArch 2015 Notes
Elvis, I'll bet if you pick a date and put up a Warbunka post explaining the format, with a little help from our new facebook page admins Tony and Mr Bennett, and me pushing it on whatsapp and at club each week, you should be able to get 12+. Me you tony brenton definates, also Charlie now I'd bet plus probably jimmy jazz and at least a half dozen others will do this.
I hope you Tony and Brent do decide to tun one this month, as I really want to have a go at it. Plus Jimmy jazz can't start the Spiky open till may once all of season 3 is complete. £5 entry was it, with a prize for the winners? I'll bring my £5 tuesday
Good luck!
