I would Steer clear of large battles in LOTRSBG as its a cross between a skirmish and warhammer scale, it tends to take a VERY long time to play and most of the scenarios do not have turn limits.

If i remember well 500pts is a fairly long game.

But anyways i have Woodelves of lothlórien and Isengard and you dont have to get the sourcebooks they havnt changed any of the rules, they just added in a very few rules, it was just another ploy to sell more LOTR's stuff for the Hobbit i suspect

But it is always nice to use the most currant rules

Agreed me and steve set a limit at 250 well he did that's 2.5 models for me but hay. 750 would be the max we should ever go to manly coz the I can take the whole fellowship but then we can do 4v4 or 3v2 stuff like that. I thought we could get the movie books and play though them bit by bit do a league out of it eg how long it takes u how many of urs die how many u kill then we only need a set number of minis eg buckleberry ferry I have the hobbits I'm sure Ben has the wraiths. It would give ppl a chance to learn the rules plus have fun

No it doesnt it's very good for teaching people the rules if ppl want to play I will teach them using it

Well I for one wouldn't mind given Moria a whirl, I've also assembled my 250pt rohan force so I'm ready to go with the SBG too

i need a lot more goblins for my moria force before its even ready to consider lol
