What would make BRGA better
BRGA Bounce Back
Hey Guys
I've noticed that numbers down the club have reduced and I was wondering if there is anything we could change/improve to get some peeps to pop back.
I know money is tight and bits like buying drinks at the bar instead of being able to bring your own could put people off - though drinks are cheap compared to other bars I know I would like to either buy a bottle of pop from the shop and save a quid or two
Any way let us know love to hear oppinions

Re: BRGA Bounce Back
Dunno if you guys know of other local clubs:
Mondays:
Hammer and Ales - Portsmouth
Tuesday:
BRGA - Bognor
Chichester Wargamers - Chichester (obv)
Solent Wargamers - Portsmouth
Not sure about Brighton and Worthing they are a bit further away. I can't play on Tuesdays most the time anyway, Wednesdays aren't great either. I wouldn't change days on my account though since I don't play 40k etc. Warmachine seems to be just as expensive now as well.
Just letting you know there are clubs in both chi and pompy on the same night. I know a couple of weeks ago the two portsmouth clubs challenged each other. If you were on different nights you could possibly attract people from other clubs along.
I don't know if anyone already does it but chasing people up asking them if they are coming by text each week will serve as more of a reminder than just using the forum. As I mentioned unless there was a regular amount of play in games I would play I'll not likely be that regular even if I could turn up.

Re: BRGA Bounce Back
not play in games
amount of play
in games I would play
perhaps I should have put a comma in there or worded it better
"unless you are playing games that interested me on a regular basis"

Re: BRGA Bounce Back
We could look into it. May talk to Frank as I think the main prob is not so much the club price but once youve bought one or two drinks from the bar then youve nearly spent 7 quid.
Where another venue we could have a little tuck shop. Cheaper drinks/sweets for the member.

Re: BRGA Bounce Back
I must admit I'm concerned too about the attendance, but I am doing what I can to recruit new members (spent 90 minutes in bognor town centre handing out leaflets last weekend) and we're starting to see a few newbies turn up (alfie and paul)
Club Finances are pretty dire but we're surviving and I'm going to approach the committee to see if they will let us off the two weeks we had for battle board building.
For those of you who haven't been to the club for a while the battle board cupboard in DONE at last and we completed the Grant application. If any of you can lend a hand we don't charge you any tuesdays spent battle boarding or scenery painting.
I'm going to start a regular newsletter (fortnightly starting tomorrow) and will run a Dungeonbowl Tournament in 4-5 weeks time.
I think we're suffering mainly from the loss of our 40k leader, general poverty and a lack of cohesion. If the club folds it will be a real shame, it is more than anything else a place where you can meet your mates on a regular basis.
Plus I was exhausted after Thrudball, the 40 or so hours to put together our grant application, the sourcing of the materials to justify the grant, and trying probably in too pushy a manner to get people to commit to helping. Hence I've not been able to focus on this issue beforehand...balance any affront I may have caused with all of the effort I've put in to source boards and scenery when essentially I DON'T EVEN PLAY 40K...yet... Cmon guys this is YOUR club...don't you want it?
The hall was always going to be expensive as we have a bar at our disposal, storage space for battle boards and a regular hall slot etc. Whilst I'm open to any majority vote on moving the club to a new location the issues of regular slots and storage space are of utmost importance. Plus we're getting known by the locals a bit now...
I think I also failed to realise not everyone likes to say "No" when I rather persistantly ask for help. As you all know I'm direct and too outspoken, it never occured to me people would rather avoid the club (and me) than say "well, actually frank I can't / don't want to / can't be a**ed help with the battle boards ". And if for you that is the case that's fine honestly, not everyone cares or can find time or effort for our gaming community. I'm not going to give you a hard time, honest! Well, maybe a bit in jest...
So C'Mon BRGAN's lets let bygones be trygons, bury the battleaxe and make BRGA the best doggone gaming club in the WORLD (or at least Bognor).
Frank, Club Leader (until someone else wants the hassle)

Re: BRGA Bounce Back
thanks chris, someone loves us!
Charlie, chris has a point, this vote is a bit biased, there's no "I Love BRGA just as it is " option...Can you fix please (so I can vote 20 times )
thanks
