Walberton Wargamers: Christmas time tournaments!

Saturday December 17th is our annual WHFB Tourney and Golden Goblin competition, armies are 2,400 points

Bank Holiday Tuesday 27th December is our annual 40k Tourney and Golden Grot competition, armies are 1,750 points

Both events are 10am-7pm

WHFB:

1. Meeting Engagement
2. Battle for the Pass
3. Battleline

40k:

1. Seize Ground (5 objectives)/Dawn of War
2. Capture and Control/Spearhead
3. Annihilation/Pitched Battle

£3 for the day as normal, payable on the day

No special characters in either WHFB or 40k

WHFB

Insta-kill spells do a maximum of 1 wound if the model is allowed a 'look out sir!' roll
the power scroll is the revised WD version that halves the required casting level
no fozzrik's folding fortress
buildings can hold a maximum of 20 infantry models which does mean that units larger than 20 cannot enter a buidling
maximum of 12 power dice in any magic phase regardless of source
no single non-character unit may be over 500 points including command, magic items etc.
Maximum of 5 template weapons in the army from any source (which includes cannon and breath weapons)
Maximum of 80 shooting attacks per turn that have a range over 12" or are fired by skirmishers
Special choices are limited to only two choices of any given type, and rare to only one choice of any given type (so as a dwarf player I could choose to take 2 Grudge Throwers and 2 Cannon but I could not take 3 Cannon, nor could I take 2 Organ Guns. As Bolt Throwers are listed as 1-2 per special choice I could potentially take 4 Bolt Throwers. The Ancient Stegadon used in the Engine of the Gods counts as the Rare Choice Ancient Stegadon)

WHFB army lists need to be submitted on or before Sunday 11th December to walbertonwargamers@yahoo.co.uk Before anyone complains I've already written mine, should I get to play.

Points Scoring

After each battle victory points are scored according to the rules on pg.143, in summary:

• points cost scored for each unit/character destroyed or fled (not fleeing) from the battlefield.

• 50% points cost scored for each unit reduced to less than 25% of the starting number of models (this is in addition to pg.143)

• +100 points for killing the enemy general.

• +100 points for killing the enemy battle standard bearer either from melee or the last stand rule, pg.94.

• +25 points for each enemy unit standard bearer killed either from melee or the last stand rule, pg.94.

• +50 points for a unit champion killing an enemy character in a challenge

Once both sides have calculated their victory points, 20 tournament points are divvied up in the following fashion:

• 0-240 points difference; a draw (10-10)

• 241-600 points difference; a minor victory (13-7)

• 601-1200 points difference; a major victory (16-4)

• 1201+ points difference, or the loser is totally annihilated; a massacre (20-0)

Please remember to hand in the victory point totals as well as the tournament points, as the victory points will be used to decide draws.

0-10 Points per player will also be awarded for painting using our normal relative method; in short having most of your army painted even to a minimal standard is better than having a few well painted models and others unpainted.

There are no points awarded for comp.

Prizes (of a completely token value, i.e. a shiny plastic cup) will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall, for best painted army (voted for by the players) and for the Golden Goblin competition (also voted for by players on the day)

Golden Goblin entries can be any single model, command group or unit that has been painted in 2011.

For Best Painted Army and Golden Goblin players may not vote for their own entry

I think that covers pretty much everything; the most important shift from last year is that army lists for WHFB must be submitted by Sunday 11th December

40k rulespack:

1750 points
must comply with the standard force organisation chart
no special characters, with the notable exceptions of Belial, Master of Deathwing, and Sammael, Master of Ravenwing, who are allowed purely to include deathwing and ravenwing armies (note that you cannot include both in the same army)
no Marbo, no matter how much you beg......

the 40k tourney is on tues 27th december, army lists should be submitted to walbertonwargamers@yahoo.co.uk on or before Sunday 18th december

as with the WHFB tourney there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes of no worth and best painted army.

there will also be the Golden Gretchin competition in which you can enter any 1 model/command group/unit/vehicle/diorama/thingy that you have painted in 2011
